------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome to The Witching Hour! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Witching Hour BBS originated back in 1986 when Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) were thriving, before the Big Bad Internet came and killed the BBS.
The Witching Hour was running 24 hours a day from June 6, 1993 until December 31,
1997. At that time The Witching Hour was a Multi-Node BBS with a total of 2 Phone Lines
and at it height almost 1000 Users averaging 100-150 Calls a Day. By
Mid-1996 the Internet had dwindled the system usage to about 10-20 Calls a
Day. After seeing the System Usage Decline in only 6 months the decision was made to Take the System Down.
In early September 1999 we decided to put The Witching Hour Back Online with the
ability to Access it on the very thing that killed it, the Internet. But that was
a failing there was not enugh intrest in bbs at that time. Withthe ability to Telnet
into a BBS it has renewed some of the interest in Bulletin Boards. BBS are a lot more
personal than the Internet and offer a few things that have yet to be done online.
and we kept going up and down in the next few yers we disided to go for broke 2005
and we plan on staying up for atleast 3 years and longer if the interest is there.
The Witching Hour is now a Multi-Node Telnet-able System that is Available Worldwide to anyone with an Internet Connection and Telnet Terminal
Program. This system can be accessed by someone running any of the current operating systems (Windows95/98, Windows NT, Unix, Linux, and others).
This System is a Free System and all Users will have access to all
Areas (Some Areas Require Users to be over 18). But we still would like donations
The Witching Hour carries a large amount of message networks including, DoveNet, FidoNet, PNW-Net, and paranormal net.
There is No Download Ratio implemeted in the File Areas!
